NEW YORK (January 14, 2020) – The 43rd edition of the World’s Strongest Man championship will return to Bradenton, Florida USA, beginning Wednesday, May 20, in partnership with The Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (BACVB). SBD Apparel, the brand that has supported the sport’s top contenders with equipment for several years, has signed as the competition’s new title partner through 2024.

Taking place at Bradenton’s Premier Sports Campus, this year’s competition will follow an advanced new format, where 25 of the world’s best will compete over a progressive four-day schedule that includes two days of qualifiers and a two-day final.

The top strength athletes will once again be pushed to their physical and mental limits with events that will challenge them to pull, push, carry, lift and toss heavy weights such as large trucks, cars, kettle bells and the event’s iconic Atlas Stones.

“We are honored and excited to welcome World’s Strongest Man back to the Bradenton Area in 2020,” said BACVB Executive Director Elliott Falcione. “This year’s event is gearing up to be even bigger and better than last year, and we look forward to hosting the athletes, coaches and fans, and showcasing not only our world-class sporting facilities but also our entire destination to a worldwide audience.”

Benjamin Banks, SBD Apparel CEO, added: “Since we launched it has been our mission to provide strength athletes with the highest quality equipment available and to support and grow the sport. That is why we are excited to announce our partnership with the biggest event in strongman for the next five years, and to announce that we will be returning to Bradenton this year with a bigger presence than ever before.” Coverage of the 2020 championship will be broadcast worldwide to more than 70 different countries and territories, totaling close to 500 million households, including CBS and CBS Sports in the U.S. and Channel 5 in the UK.
