What does your training involve?
3 time weight lifting, 1 time circuits/event training, in the summer mix training

 

What does your diet normally consist of?
Breakfast: Oatmeal, 1 Banana
Lunch: 6 slices of bread with meat and 2 fruits
Dinner: Potatoes/pasta or rice with meat and veg

 

What made you want to become a strongman?
TV (the good old days)

How old were you when you started training and competing in strongman?
Training I was 15 years / powerlifting 17 years / strongman 23 years

 

What is your greatest strongman achievement?
In my country I am the best, in the world I still need to put my master

 

How do you manage to balance work and training for strongman?

Easy, I have a great job

 

What is the worst injury you have ever had?
Biceps torn off

 

What are your plans after your strongman career?
To become one of the top strongmen of the world, to promote the sport in my country and to train and organise strongman events

 

What has been your biggest dissapointment whilst training as a strongman?
That I trained mostly at home and then I found the fighting spirit

 

What advice would you give to someone who wants to become a strongman?
Grow strong first in gym lifts (300kg dc at least) and be above mostly to be on your way to glory

 

What is your favourite strongman event and why?
Farmers stone as I am good at it and it feels great

 

What is you least favourite strongman event and why?
Conans wheel

 

Which past strongman do you admire now & why?
Bill kazmeir and manfred horbell, the first strongmen I saw as a kid

 

Which current strongman do you admire now & why?
Mariusz and poundstone, strength, stamina and spirit are off the chart

 

How do you prepare yourself for major events?
Train the events 1 week heavy and the other light for speed

 

What is your favourite other sporting event?
Boxing and wrestling

 

What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?
Draw carttons and play video games and stay busy with my family

 

Given your size, what's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you?
The kids from my girls school think im the hulk and spread the word around

 

Do you have any nicknames? If so, whatís the story behind your nickname.
When I was young - king kong because I was big and tall, in belgium and holland 'the belgium beast' beacause im crazy

 

What would be your favourite type of holiday and destination?
Everthing I haven't seen yet

 

What is your favourite film?

Star Wars

 

What car do you drive now and what car would you like to drive?
BMW X3 and want to have a Dodge Pick-Up

 

What personal achievement are you most proud of?
That im somenody in belgium now, and people where thinking I was a loser when I was young

 

Who is your biggest threat for 2009 and why?
Everybody, I'm the 1st Belgian to ever compete in WSM so ....
