Robert Oberst, pro-strongman and actor, is representing the USA at the 2019 Tachi Palace World’s Strongest Man. At 34, Oberst stands 6’7” and weighs 410lbs. This will be his 6th WSM appearance where he hopes to make it into the Final. You may hear the crowd cheering “O.B.” as that has been his nickname since 2nd grade.
In April 2019, the Log Lift record was “taken” from Robert by competitor Rob Kearney.
“I had it for several years, and not being able to defend it was very frustrating it. When I found out, I did the log press that day! In January, will take the WORLD RECORD, not just the AMERICAN RECORD!”
Growing up, Robert was a Swing Dance Competitor and received his last trophy at age 19. He had a growth spurt of 7 inches one summer, leading him to take up more sports. He went on to play College Football as an Off Lineman at Western Oregon University.
