2011 Event Information:
An extremely popular competitor, the Icelander has made great progress at WSM, gaining valuable experience in 2008 and 2009 before finishing in a well-deserved fourth spot last year. A multiple winner of Iceland’s Strongest Man, Solvi Petursson will be hoping, as an absolute minimum, to make the final once again. As well as being a top level strongman, Stefan has also competed in numerous Highland Games events, and began his strength journey as a powerlifter.

How many hours per day do you train?
How many days do you train per week?
What does your training involve?
Mostly strongman event training, but in between I also train like a powerlifter. I also train for Scottish highland games.
What does your diet normally consist of?
Breakfast: Eggs, oatmeal and all-bran, protein shake
Lunch: Fish or chicken, rice or pasta
Dinner: Beef or chicken, rice or potatoes
What made you want to become a strongman?
Jon pall Sigmarsson – 4x World’s Strongest Man champion
How old were you when you started training and competing in strongman?
2006 I started training and competing, before that I was powerlifting
What is your greatest strongman achievement?
Being invited to WSM competition
How do you manage to balance work and training for strongman?
You just do
What is the worst injury you have ever had?
Tore my left bicep tendon in may 2007
What are your plans after your strongman career?
Only thing that is planned today is to enjoy life
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become a strongman?
Train harder, eat more and better and believe in yourself!!
What is your favourite strongman event and why?
Natural stone loading
What is you least favourite strongman event and why?
I like them all even if im bad at something

Jon Pall Sigmarsson because he was great!

Zydrunas Savickas because he is the strongest strongman ever
How do you prepare yourself for major events?
Train my ass off
What is your favourite other sporting event?
NFL American Football
What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?
Listen to music and just hang around with family and friends
Given your size, what’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
I have broken toilet seats
What would be your favourite type of holiday and destination?
Being lazy in the countryside of Iceland and bbq’s

What car do you drive now and what car would you like to drive?
Suzuki Vitara but I want a Toyota Tundra or Ford Excursion
