Jesse taking 2nd place, WSM 2005

The World's Strongest Man competition and its organisers would like to pass on their deepest sympathies to the Marunde Family at the passing of one of a true great in the strongman community, Jesse Marunde of the United States. Jesse was not only a very popular figure amongst the strongman fraternity but he was also one of the top competitors over the last few years.

In 2005, he lead the final of WSM until the sixth event when Mariusz Pudzianowski of Poland managed to famously beat him into second place. Since then he has gained an army of fans for his dedication to the sport, his unquestionable talent and his sparkling personality. His incredible charm was only matched by his phenomonal strength.
