2016 WSM Winner

Shaw triumphs in World’s Strongest Man 2016

CATEGORIES: WSM NEWS. | | by Rob Pratt

Brian Shaw extended his era of domination with his fourth World’s Strongest Man win in 2016. He’s finished in the top four every year since 2011, taking first in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 in Botswana.

Perhaps his winning streak is no surprise, the colossal American also holds impressive set of personal strength records, from the 950lb squat, to the 1021lb deadlift, to the 1,140 strapped Hummer Tire Lift.

In 2013, for his second WSM title win, Brian conquered 5 out of 6 of the events in his group, and finished the competition with 51 points – three more than his closest competitor. He has also racked up another 12 first place wins in other Strong Men competitions since 2008.

In this 2016’s competition Shaw kept a cool head throughout and, despite fierce competition, always seemed a step ahead. Can he make it number five next year?
