What does your training involve?

Training involves normal gym training for core and basic strength but it consists mostly of event training in order to become better at my sport. If you were to play basketball and wanted to become better at dribbling, you would practice dribbling. Well strongman is no different. What does your diet normally consist of?

Breakfast: Anything, lots of calories, carbs and protein

Lunch: Anything, lots of calories, carbs and protein

Dinner: Anything, lots of calories, carbs and protein

What made you want to become a strongman?

Started training for strongman at 15 to become better at high school sports and my training partner entered me in a contest without me knowing at 16 years old. I competed, did really well and haven’t stopped since!

What is your greatest strongman achievement?

Either coming in 8th at WSM 07 or setting the WR for the deadlift in strongman

How do you manage to balance work and training for strongman?

Well luckily right now my job is strongman, so it balances pretty well!

What is the worst injury you have ever had?

I have completely torn off both bicep tendons – Jan 08 and Jan 09

What are your plans after your strongman career?

Hopefully, I will be well established within the strength and fitness world and own or be part of some kind of gym. I would also like to commentate.

What has been your biggest disappointment whilst training as a strongman?

Tearing both biceps in back to back year and delaying my journey to the top of the sport. I know I will get there but I have to just overcome these setbacks.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to become a strongman?

Be ready to deal with pain and be ready to have long hours in the gym. Make sure you stay dedicated and focused or you will never last or make any serious gains.

What is your favourite strongman event and why?

Deadlift, because I am really good at it – ha ha!

What is you least favourite strongman event and why?

Fingal Fingers or the Truck Pull, because I’m very bad at it!

Which past strongman do you admire now & why?

Joko Ahola, because he was one of the smaller guys but he didn’t let that get to him. He was creative and fierce and never backed down. Had tremendous heart.

Which current strongman do you admire now & why?

Marius pudzianowski, because he is the best there has ever been and is the most dominant strength athlete of all time.

How do you prepare yourself for major events?

Train hard and try to find out the events as soon as possible so I can train event specific

What is your favourite other sporting event?

Superbowl

What do you do to relax? Do you have any hobbies?

Playing Poker

Given your size, what’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?

Not fitting in seats on planes or the bathrooms on planes

What would be your favourite type of holiday and destination?

Somewhere warn with a lot of beaches and a lot of Poker

What is your favourite film?

Snatch.

What car do you drive now and what car would you like to drive?

08 Toyota Tundra – wouldn’t want to drive anything else.

What personal achievement are you most proud of?

Being a WSM competitor while going to and graduating from a major business university

Mariusz, because he is the best of all time
